I have had this idea for so long and have been DYING to do a session at a garden center. A special thanks to Ashley & Tanner for joining me at the butt crack of dawn at Lowe's to get these GORGEOUS shots! Tanner's overalls and Ashley's dress and hat are all from Mariah Springs Photography Wardrobe Collection, and let me tell you, styling this session was SO MUCH FUN. I had a vision, and it came to LIFE! BEAUTIFUL!
I've been on a roll doing all of the shoots and ideas that have been on my mind! I just simply haven't had the time, but guess what? I'm making the time now! This stuff has been too much fun to NOT do! I love this boy right here, and he's only this little for a very short while, so hey, let's throw on a tool belt, some overalls, and a hat and go say hey to some folks over at Home Depot. And let me tell you, we may have looked like some crazy people, but he made a lot of people smile this day...including me.
This was one of my FAVORITE days EVER as a photographer. I am in LOVE with these images. So, I offered a special with the launch of my new studio for Mommy & Me photos this year. This special came with digital images and access to my studio wardrobe, and let me tell you, these ladies ROCKED it! I loved this day and these images so much that I am DEFINITELY going to start offering this special annually. I can't wait for next year's sessions already! You ladies are GORGEOUS both inside and out, and I am so thrilled that you have these images that will last a lifetime. Your children will cherish these when they are older and will pass them down to their children. Thats the beauty of photography...freezing time for just a moment.
I find myself constantly telling people that their babies "are only little once," and I realized that I've been working so much that I've neglected to hold onto my own memories lately. I wanted to take photos of my boy, but he's getting older and more annoyed by photos each day (ha!), so I needed something that would not only allow us to spend some time together, but something he would think was COOL and FUN! And we nailed it! Jericho had a blast and now has his first painting to hang in his room!
I'm playing a little catch-up on my blogging game now that school is OUT, OVER, DONE! Speaking of school, I had the opportunity to work with this little lady for only a short period of time, but in that short period of time, she has become more like a friend I've known forever! This family is gorgeous in all ways!
This is one of those sessions that you just HAVE to let the session tell its story through a storyboard of photographs. This location was a dreamland for a photographer, and this family...well, they are kind, bold, astute, and downright fun! I am so thrilled to present to you the GORGEOUS photographs of the Boatmans!
Sweet Kerr is already 1 year old! Kerr's Mom is an Agriculture teacher, and his Dad is a farmer, so where better to have this session than actually on their farm? Kerr is obviously learning from the best. Every time I take this sweet child's pictures, it is incredibly easy to capture his personality and smiles. I'm telling ya'll, this is a happy child! Also, this very first picture makes me giggle!
Declan is growing up so fast! I have absolutely loved watching him grow through my lens! That smile. That personality. That HAIR! Declan is truly a stunningly beautiful child with fabulous parents. This is a family with a lot of heart. They know how to make you feel at home and a part of their own family every time you meet. Thank you again for allowing me the opportunity to capture this gorgeous child and your precious memories!
When I spoke with Marsha about taking these, we both were really hoping to be able to use this field. Being that they live farther away, it would have been hard to shoot in the wee hours of the morning with the right lighting, BUT we lucked up! It was the PERFECT day for these portraits. Although it was still pretty early in the day, this family was so much fun! The kids played and twirled and had a good ole time! I am a sucker for a family heirloom too, and they brought a handmade family quilt. I love a prop in a photo that truly means something to the family, and I'm also a huge fan of a snuggle-under-a-blanket photo!
Claudia and Joseph are some of the most stunningly beautiful children that I have ever seen! Their mother, Frannie, and I were college roommates, and it was so wonderful to see her again and meet these adorable children. It's so crazy to think about how all of our lives have changed since the college days. Although we all had so much fun, we truly never realized how being mothers would completely transform our lives! From Thursday nights at Riley's hoping the nights would never end to Thursday nights just praying that you get to do absolutely nothing and sleep through the entire night! Frannie and Kevin, you did well! Your greatest achievements are just gorgeous!
