THIS! I've always wanted maternity milk bath photos, and yay! Here they are! Thanks to my husband for getting these shots and for totally going the extra mile to get cool shots. This dude brought in his ladder and everything! He was paparazzi-ing like a champ! And I love everything about them! Milk bath sessions NOW AVAILABLE in the studio as an add-on!
A Special Mommy & Me Session: Ashley & Tanner | Lowe's Home Improvement Garden Center
I have had this idea for so long and have been DYING to do a session at a garden center. A special thanks to Ashley & Tanner for joining me at the butt crack of dawn at Lowe's to get these GORGEOUS shots! Tanner's overalls and Ashley's dress and hat are all from Mariah Springs Photography Wardrobe Collection, and let me tell you, styling this session was SO MUCH FUN. I had a vision, and it came to LIFE! BEAUTIFUL!
Jericho's Visit to Home Depot
I've been on a roll doing all of the shoots and ideas that have been on my mind! I just simply haven't had the time, but guess what? I'm making the time now! This stuff has been too much fun to NOT do! I love this boy right here, and he's only this little for a very short while, so hey, let's throw on a tool belt, some overalls, and a hat and go say hey to some folks over at Home Depot. And let me tell you, we may have looked like some crazy people, but he made a lot of people smile this day...including me.
An Outing with My Boy
A Painting Party with My Jericho
I find myself constantly telling people that their babies "are only little once," and I realized that I've been working so much that I've neglected to hold onto my own memories lately. I wanted to take photos of my boy, but he's getting older and more annoyed by photos each day (ha!), so I needed something that would not only allow us to spend some time together, but something he would think was COOL and FUN! And we nailed it! Jericho had a blast and now has his first painting to hang in his room!
Jericho & Canon: A New Love Story
Oh my. How do I write this without sobbing? Our fur babies are our real babies. My child's best friend in this entire world since birth was our Yorkie named Charlie. Charlie passed away in his sleep in the early hours of Christmas morning. This Mama was devastated, not only because I had lost my first child, but because I had no idea how to make Jericho understand. I said I didn't know if I could ever get another dog after Charlie passed, but literally the day after, I couldn't stand the silence in the house. My child was constantly looking for his best friend. I didn't care how soon it was. We had to have another companion to help soothe our hearts. Meet Canon (yes, like the camera). He is by no means a replacement for the family member we lost, but he is slowly helping us regain our happiness with his whimsical personality and his precious face. I only hope that Canon can become Jericho's very best friend in the years to come.

Halloween: Our Jericho Lee
Your child's first real halloween is challenging! Usually I'm one of those who search on Pinterest and find something super creative for a costume, but really ya'll, October is BUSY for a photographer! So, I thought, "What is my child's most favorite thing in the world?" Dogs. He loves dogs. He literally wakes up in the morning barking. He plays in our Yorkie, Charlie's, dog bowl every chance he can get. So, naturally, this was his favorite shoot of all! Woof woof!
Christmas in September: Minisession Samples
Here it is! My early "Christmas in September" shots! These are the sample shots for my mini-sessions happening in November. All spots are currently full for these sessions. Contact me if you are interested in being added to the waiting list, as I may open up a weekday spot if I get enough on my list.

Jericho Lee's 1 Year Cake Smash
I cannot believe that I am even typing this right now. My child is almost ONE! You know, people tell you and tell you that it will FLY by, but you never really know until you're there, and it's happening. A lot has happened in this first year of Jericho Lee's life. My father passed away, but he got to meet his first grand baby, stayed in the hospital all night waiting for his arrival. Then, I was on maternity leave for a semester, so I started booking more photos than I ever allowed myself. And then I went back to teaching where I decided it was time to be a full-time photographer. None of the events in Jericho's first year were planned. Everything I have done has been for him, and besides all of that, amongst the joy and the tragedy, here is a little boy whose life has truly changed those around him in just one short year.
Beach Session: Rainey & Evan
Jericho's First Trip to the Beach
My baby's first trip to the beach was a success! He absolutely loved it! And I was so glad that I took my camera down to the beach to capture these photos and video to bring back home to Da-Da (who had to work and couldn't go). Of course, these are just the action shots. We did a portrait session with my sister and her boyfriend that I can't WAIT to work on this week after I finish all of my other work!

Rainey: My Sister/Senior Model | Virginia Photographer | Photography by Mariah | Keeling, Virginia
It is only appropriate to pair this post of my sister’s photos with the full poem, “The Type” by Sarah Kay. "If you grow up the type of woman men want to look at,/You can let them look at you./But do not mistake eyes for hands or windows or mirrors./Let them see what a woman looks like./They may have not ever seen one before.
Just a Day in the Life of Jericho
This little boy is my heart, my soul, my everything. He makes even the worst of days so much better even when he's crying before nap time or fussing for a bottle. We just started bathing with a clothes basket, and Jericho thinks it's the greatest thing in the world. So, of course, Mama had to photograph it!

Jason Springs & Spencer Key Live at Franks Italian Restaurant | Virginia Photographer | Photography by Mariah | Singer Songwriter | Danville, Virginia
My husband is a hard working man. He not only works his 9-5, but he also plays music at several different venues and bars in our local area. Jason & Spencer's combination of 90's alternative and singer-songwriter Americana meets folk meets country sound (We can never figure out how to label my husband's music) draw in the crowd with every performance. I promise I'm not just saying this because he happens to be my husband. They are GOOD! Head on over to Franks Italian Restaurant in Danville, Virginia on a Saturday night and you're likely to see these two jamming! Support local music!
My Family: Impromptu Saturday Morning Tripod Session | Virginia Photographer | Photography by Mariah | Keeling, Virginia
So, we have a family session scheduled with an AMAZING photographer friend of mine at the beginning of April, but I decided to give this a go with my new shutter remote (every other one I've had is a total piece of junk, but THIS one actually works!). Not a lot of versatility, but it's kind of hard to get tons of different angles when you're actually in the photos!
My Jericho Lee: 6 months | Virginia Photographer | Photography by Mariah | Pittsylvania County, Virginia
Here it is, folks. This is the reason I got into the photography business in the first place. I knew that one day I would have a child, and I knew that one day I would want to document every little moment. So, I started my business in order to learn, purchase equipment, and be able to create beautiful images of my child that I will cherish forever.
