This family! They have stolen my heart with every single session! I can't wait to see Lorrell and Kerr grow up together through Lorrell's 6 month and 1 year sessions! Oh, the joys of having First Year Plan clients. I begin to fall in love and look forward to each session. This family is not only beautiful, but they are kind, hard-working and such down-to-earth folks! I look forward to not only seeing the kids, but talking with mom and dad at each session. You guys are awesome!
Look at those toes! This little man and that gorgeous blonde hair! I just can't get over it. Not only was he a complete doll while he was here, but he also gives off such a peaceful and perfect aura. I get so emotional when I take the maternity photos and then see the beautiful babies my clients create, so I had to include and before and after at the bottom of this post. Look at all of that beauty!
Oh my. How do I write this without sobbing? Our fur babies are our real babies. My child's best friend in this entire world since birth was our Yorkie named Charlie. Charlie passed away in his sleep in the early hours of Christmas morning. This Mama was devastated, not only because I had lost my first child, but because I had no idea how to make Jericho understand. I said I didn't know if I could ever get another dog after Charlie passed, but literally the day after, I couldn't stand the silence in the house. My child was constantly looking for his best friend. I didn't care how soon it was. We had to have another companion to help soothe our hearts. Meet Canon (yes, like the camera). He is by no means a replacement for the family member we lost, but he is slowly helping us regain our happiness with his whimsical personality and his precious face. I only hope that Canon can become Jericho's very best friend in the years to come.
Oh, how I love this girl and her family! Not only did I take her brother's senior photos, but I taught her other brother, and now I had the pleasure of meeting this beautiful little lady! Let's take a moment and talk about these COLORS! Amazing. This session took place right in the middle of fall, and thanks to Lizzy Lou Boutique in downtown Danville, Virginia, all of these gorgeous fall colors blended to make these GORGEOUS images! I am in awe! Ally, you are an amazing young woman. I know that you will do great things in this world!
Here it is. The story of the lovely Anna Brooks. Where do I even start? I taught this bold, beautiful, creative young lady in English and Creative Writing classes, and after the very first poem she wrote, she stole my creative heart. This beauty stands out from the crowd. Her words define her paper. She is an artist all around. The art of poetry. The art of dance. The art of being. She is what it means to be creative, ladies and gentlemen.
This was the second session of the week that I shot at Dalton's house (They let sweet Catherine take her photos there too), and let me tell you, we had FUN! We rode around and laughed and canoed and four-wheeled and played guitar. This was SUCH an exciting senior session. They made me want to come hang out with them all the time! Dalton is an incredibly fun-loving dude. I know that you have such a bright future ahead of you!
Your child's first real halloween is challenging! Usually I'm one of those who search on Pinterest and find something super creative for a costume, but really ya'll, October is BUSY for a photographer! So, I thought, "What is my child's most favorite thing in the world?" Dogs. He loves dogs. He literally wakes up in the morning barking. He plays in our Yorkie, Charlie's, dog bowl every chance he can get. So, naturally, this was his favorite shoot of all! Woof woof!

Maddie is FULL of energy, smiles, and love! I had SO much fun with Maddie! I had the privilege of teaching Maddie in 9th grade, and I was THRILLED to see that young girl's transformation into a young lady. She will do such great things in this world. Oh, my heart! This session was INCREDIBLE. We had an initial challenge of working around having no natural light, so guess what? I brought my studio to them! And oh my, oh my, what a gorgeous in-home session this is! Baby Levi is stunning and beautiful with two amazing parents. Not to mention, their home is a DREAM! It was such a calm, relaxing environment. AMAZING experience with this family!

Another beautiful senior session! This little lady was also one of my students, and I was SO excited to see her again and the spend this time together taking these gorgeous photographs. Megan is incredibly laid back, fun, and willing to do anything to get those awesome rural shots! Congrats on being a senior, and I know you will do incredible things in the future!
I cannot believe that I am even typing this right now. My child is almost ONE! You know, people tell you and tell you that it will FLY by, but you never really know until you're there, and it's happening. A lot has happened in this first year of Jericho Lee's life. My father passed away, but he got to meet his first grand baby, stayed in the hospital all night waiting for his arrival. Then, I was on maternity leave for a semester, so I started booking more photos than I ever allowed myself. And then I went back to teaching where I decided it was time to be a full-time photographer. None of the events in Jericho's first year were planned. Everything I have done has been for him, and besides all of that, amongst the joy and the tragedy, here is a little boy whose life has truly changed those around him in just one short year.
If Taliyah’s smile isn’t contagious, then I just don’t know what is! This senior session was fun, whimsical, and full of fabulous fashion! I wish you the best of luck in your future, Taliyah. THIS wedding! Oh my goodness! I cannot say enough about the joy that Brianna & Beau brought to everyone who attended, including their photographers (myself and my husband). We were with them every step of the way, and let me tell you, we truly enjoyed ourselves! I cried during the ceremony and couldn’t stop smiling during the reception! I wish these two the very best for their future. They made me feel like I was part of their own beautiful family. I present to you the wedding of Brianna & Beau.
Oh, how I LOVE a tub session. Giseli & Stuart are expecting their first baby soon. We had so much fun with Giseli's entire shoot, but I had to post just our tub session because I couldn't wait! Giseli is from Brazil, and we got to incorporate some fun Brazilian accessories throughout, but THESE. These are a true depiction of a Brazilian goddess right here! Gorgeous!
